Waiting, but think I require more patience

I feel a calling in my heart to serve God more. To make better use of my time witnessing, sharing, writing, giving, and/or volunteering. To be involved in something great with other Christians, united…for Christ. This inside of me is so strong that I fear I am drowning out the direction He is wanting me to take with the thoughts racing in my head.

Have you ever been there? Have you ever had a deep passion within your heart to do something but just didn’t know what direction to take or how to get there gracefully?

My heart tells me that God will open the right door for me, and I BELIEVE that 100%. I also need to be honest and say waiting is hard because this feeling is pulling and tugging and has been for a while now.

Share with me a time you felt God’s calling in your life to lead, serve, witness, minister to women, move, take a new job, start a family, give financially, etc….but you weren’t sure how to start. Or how you had to wait for Him to lead you there and not let the noises drown Him out.

Leave you answer in the comment section below.

  1. First of all, thank you so much for visiting my blog today and leaving some amazing comments!!

This post of yours is one I can totally relate with. I am learning when God gives you a passion for something that will bring people closer to Him, it will bring you out of your comfort zone. He will ask you to step out in faith to begin the work He has destined you to accomplish. Sometimes you do have to wait, but sometimes you just have to jump in and get off the sidelines. One situation of this in my own life was two weeks ago. God made it clear He wanted me to proceed in launching a ministry that had been on my heart for awhile. Nervous? You bet. It's totally out of my comfort zone. But I am at complete peace about it because I know that I know that I know He is guiding every step of this.

    Thanks for sharing!

  2. I so know what you are talking about!! The Enemy hits me with the very same thoughts. That is awesome about you applying for job with a ministry! I'll be praying for you!!

  3. Rachel,
I have felt God calling me to something bigger and greater than myself for quite a number of years. There was a time, before I was married that I was applying to go to seminary. That dream has not gone away, but God showed me that I needed some more life experience first. I have not given up on my dream to go to seminary, it is just on the back burner while I now raise my small children. I a constantly feeling stretched and pulled further out of my comfort zone as I am becoming more involved in leadership positions in my church and my community. I love to write, but have always wondered if anyone was actually interested in reading what I write. I'm now giving that a go as I blog. I know what you're feeling, and I am feeling it too. I'm praying for you!
    In Christ,

  4. Awesome post! I am having similar thoughts and feelings now regarding my writing and publishing my first book! I can really relate!

  5. Rachel,
Yes! I know exactly what you are talking about. You know you have to do something or you will suffocate. For me, I knew the answer to my decision, but hated the whispers of self doubt that came with it. What will my friends think? What will my parents think? What will my coworkers think? When I finally arrived at a quiet place, I knew there was only one answer. Be patient. God will open that door for you.
